The standard tip that will come on your cane is a rubber tip that will last approximately 3 to 6 months with regular cane use. The Heavy Duty Rubber has a layer of rubber, a layer of steel, and then another layer of rubber making it much thicker. The Heavy Duty rubber tip will last 2 to 3 times as long as a standard rubber tip. The Heavy duty rubber tip also adds approximately a half an inch to the length of your cane and feels a little heavier. Some customers claim it feels bulkier on the cane itself.
