What wood type is best?Updated 3 months ago

We actually offer many types of woods. The best wood type very much depends on what you are looking for in the cane itself. Oak and Hickory are the two hardest commercially available wood types in the USA. Oak is also chosen because it is sturdy and yet still lightweight and maneuverable. It is often chosen by DOJO’s for their training canes as it is both strong, sturdy, lighter weight and less expensive. 

So if you’re looking for a cane to work on spinning or other fast moves, the Oak is the best choice. Also remember in a fight, 9 times out of the 10, the lighter weight cane will win the fight. While Hickory is best for those looking for heavy, thick, and dense. Hickory will be stronger but heavier. Often for senior citizens, this is not necessarily an advantage.
